The DPJ Foundation
The DPJ Foundation was set up in July 2016 following the death by suicide of Daniel Picton-Jones which led to his wife Emma establishing the DPJ Foundation in his name. The charity has grown to cover all of Wales and has provided more than 350 people with professional counselling and more than 1,500 people have learnt more about mental health. They encourage agricultural and rural communities to get talking.
Charity Manager Kate Miles said: “we know that recent years have been isolating for so many. We might have got out of the habit of talking to one another. We know that talking really does help which is why we are encouraging everyone to start a conversation today. Just asking someone how they are and what they have been doing can be enough to show you are thinking about them and that you care. Our confidential support line is always open and our trained volunteers are there to help. You don’t even need to tell us your full name."
The free Share the Load service is available 24 hours a day on 0800 587 4262 or by text on 07860 048 799 and is completely confidential.
